Vice President Kamala Harris responded to former President Donald Trump calling her a “s—” vice president by stating that the American people deserve better and that the president should set a standard for behavior both nationally and internationally. Trump made these derogatory comments during a rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, where he insulted Harris and called for her to be fired.
Harris also addressed the recent death of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas responsible for terrorist attacks in Israel, expressing the need for the war to end and for hostages to be released while condemning the loss of innocent Palestinian lives. She has criticized the suffering of Palestinians as “unconscionable” and reiterated Israel’s right to defend itself.
In a separate interview, Harris discussed the resistance from some men and the gender gap in voter support for her and Trump. She emphasized the need to earn the votes of all demographics, including Black men, and highlighted the campaign’s outreach efforts to this group.
The Harris campaign has launched an “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” and increased media appearances targeting Black audiences in the final stretch of the campaign. Despite some progressive skepticism and challenges, Harris remains focused on building support and earning the votes of all voters, regardless of race or gender.
