The Ole Miss Rebels’ football season has been a rollercoaster ride, starting strong with wins against non-conference opponents but hitting a rough patch with losses in conference games. However, the team has bounced back in the later part of the season, thanks in large part to senior wide receiver Jordan Watkins stepping up in the absence of injured top receiver Tre Harris. Watkins’ record-breaking performances have been crucial in the Rebels’ recent success.
Since their loss to LSU, Ole Miss has adopted a “win or go home” mentality, treating every game like a playoff game. This mindset has propelled them to impressive victories, including a dominating win over Georgia. As a result, the Rebels are now ranked 9th in the AP Poll and are waiting to see where they will be seeded in the CFP Committee’s rankings.
With two more SEC games to go, Ole Miss is gearing up for a tough matchup against Florida this Saturday followed by the traditional rivalry game, the Egg Bowl, on Black Friday. The team had an extra week to prepare due to an open date and is hoping to continue their winning streak. The game against Florida will be televised on ABC at 11 a.m. CT. The Rebels are focused on finishing the season strong and securing a spot in the playoffs.
