The Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office has issued arrest warrants for three suspects in connection with the death of Southern University student Steven Harris IV, who was reported missing on July 17 and found with multiple gunshot wounds in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. The suspects, Derek Terrell Hollins Jr., Calajia Jack, and Allyah Martin, all face charges of first-degree murder. In Louisiana, they have also been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and Hollins faces an additional charge of possession of a machine gun.
Authorities believe that the suspects conspired to lure Harris from West Feliciana Parish to Mississippi, where he was killed. All three are currently being held in the West Feliciana Parish Jail and will be extradited to Mississippi to face charges. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be added. Southern University has confirmed that Harris was a sophomore studying criminal justice.
Deputy OJ Packnett expressed condolences to the Harris family, calling the incident a “horrific tragedy.” The community is mourning the loss of Harris, and the suspects are awaiting trial in connection with his death.
