John B. Briscoe of Oxford was tragically killed in a car accident on January 5th, 2025, in Lafayette County. The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. when the Chevrolet Silverado he was driving collided with a semi traveling west on Highway 6. Briscoe died at the scene of the crash. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident, but they have not yet determined the cause of the collision or the condition of the semi driver. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction at the time of the accident.
