TU dominates Mississippi Valley State, winning 93-48

Tulsa’s game against Mississippi Valley State was characterized by a stark contrast in the level of play between the two teams. While MVS was as bad as expected, Tulsa played relatively well and secured a much-needed 93-48 victory. Matt Reed led the Golden Hurricane with 15 points and 9 rebounds, showing improvement in performance compared to previous games.

The Delta Devils, with just two wins so far this season, displayed a lackluster performance, shooting only 30 percent from the field. On the other hand, Tulsa shot 51.6 percent, making it clear that they were the more talented team. Despite the lopsided nature of the game, Tulsa was able to find their shooting touch and dominate the boards, out-rebounding MVSU 52-23.

Players like Ian Smikle, Tyshawn Archie, and Antonio Sisk made significant contributions to Tulsa’s victory, with each showcasing their skills on the court. Head coach Eric Konkol was pleased with the team’s performance, especially highlighting Reed’s improvement and the contributions of walk-on players, Ben Radford and Cal Conroy.

Overall, the win over MVSU served as a morale boost for Tulsa, ending a four-game losing streak. Looking ahead, Tulsa will face Southwest Christian in their next game on December 28. Despite the limited impact of beating MVSU in the grand scheme of things, the victory provided Tulsa with confidence moving forward in the season.
