Chicago Aims to Hold on to James Beard Awards Beyond 2027

Mayor Brandon Johnson echoed Reynolds’ sentiments, promising to prioritize retaining the awards in Chicago. Co-host Andrew Zimmern emphasized Chicago’s vibrant culinary scene and the broader social responsibilities of chefs. Among the nominees, Thai Dang of HaiSous expressed joy in being recognized as a finalist for Best Chef: Great Lakes. "To finally make it to this stage feels incredible," he said.
