Emanuel Tucker Commits to LSU, Shocking Ole Miss and Kiffin
Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels recently faced a setback in their recruiting efforts as Emanuel Tucker, a highly sought-after four-star offensive tackle from New Albany, Mississippi, announced his commitment to LSU. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect, who is ranked as the No. 1 offensive lineman in Mississippi and among the top-15 offensive tackles nationally, had previously opened his recruitment after backing out of a pledge to Mississippi State.
Tucker’s recruiting journey gained momentum in June, during which he officially visited Ole Miss and LSU. His visit to Ole Miss left a lasting impression, particularly regarding the Rebels’ offensive scheme, which Tucker expressed keen interest in. However, the Tigers, under head coach Brian Kelly, continued to pursue Tucker aggressively, culminating in a recent official visit to Baton Rouge.
During his time with LSU, Tucker felt welcomed, with position coach Brad Davis making a strong impression on the talented lineman. After weighing his options, Tucker publicly declared his commitment to LSU on June 12, 2025, signaling a significant loss for Kiffin and Ole Miss, who had positioned themselves as strong contenders in his recruitment.
This development comes as a blow to Ole Miss, especially after the program had gained traction leading into Tucker’s decision. As the Rebels aim to bolster their Top-20 recruiting class, they will continue to pursue top-tier talent in the offseason.
