CU Buffs Sign Former Coastal Carolina and Mississippi State RB Simeon Price – The Denver Post

Simeon Price Joins Colorado Football Team, Adding Depth to Running Back Competition

BOULDER, CO – Colorado football has bolstered its running back roster with the addition of Simeon Price, a former Coastal Carolina and Mississippi State player. Price announced his commitment to the Buffaloes on Thursday, as the team seeks to enhance a running game that has struggled over the past two seasons, particularly after the departure of star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman-worthy athlete Travis Hunter.

Price, who played last season at Coastal Carolina, brings experience to a backfield that includes returning players Dallan Hayden, Micah Welch, and DeKalon Taylor, a recent transfer from Incarnate Word. During his season at Coastal Carolina, Price participated in nine games, logging 44 carries for 136 yards at an average of 3.1 yards per carry, with two receptions adding to his stats. Despite his limited scoring opportunities, he provides additional depth as the Buffs look to rejuvenate their ground game.

Prior to his time at Coastal Carolina, Price had a career at Mississippi State, where he appeared in 12 games during the 2022 season, accumulating 150 rushing yards and scoring a touchdown. His journey began as a true freshman, where he played four games before redshirting.

With Price’s commitment, Colorado now has 78 scholarship players and a total of 103 for the 2025 season, just shy of the newly approved roster cap of 105 following a recent House settlement. As preseason practices approach next month, the competition for playing time in the running back position promises to be fierce, reflecting Coach Deion Sanders’ commitment to revamping the team’s offensive strategy.
