Hunter Elliott Named to 2025 NCBWA Division I All-America Team
DALLAS – Ole Miss pitcher Hunter Elliott has earned a prestigious spot on the 2025 NCBWA Division I All-America Team, announced Wednesday afternoon. He stands out as one of seven starting pitchers recognized on the Third Team, marking a significant achievement for the Rebels.
Elliott is the first Ole Miss player to receive All-America honors since Kemp Alderman’s recognition in 2023 and the first pitcher since Dylan DeLucia in 2022. The redshirt junior showcased his skills as the primary Friday night starter for the Rebels, completing 16 starts with an impressive 10-3 record and a notable ERA of 2.94. He struck out 102 batters throughout the season, leading opponents to a mere .197 batting average against him, while also executing 13 pick-offs, a record for the Rebels in the Modern Era.
With this season, Elliott solidifies his legacy as just the fifth pitcher in Ole Miss history to achieve a 10-win, 100-strikeout season. Remarkably, he is also the fourth in the program to surpass 100 strikeouts in two separate seasons. His 2.94 ERA represents the lowest for a Rebel starting pitcher since his freshman year, when he posted an ERA of 2.70.
Elliott’s excellence extended into the postseason, where he secured a spot on both the SEC Tournament All-Tournament team and the Oxford Regional All-Tournament team, allowing only one earned run across two starts. He concluded the season with a strong finish, garnering four consecutive wins while surrendering just three earned runs in that run.
