Schulz Celebrity Golf Classic Raises Over $1 Million for Local Charities
Santa Rosa, CA – The Schulz Celebrity Golf Classic, held on June 3 at the picturesque Mayacama Golf Club, raised more than $1 million to benefit children’s charities across Sonoma County. Hosted by “Seinfeld” actor John O’Hurley, the event featured a day filled with a cocktail reception, a gourmet dinner, and an exciting auction.
Celebrity attendees included former sports stars and actors such as Festus Ezeli (Golden State Warriors), Barry Bonds (San Francisco Giants), Willie Gault (Chicago Bears), Patrick Warburton (“Family Guy”), Kevin Rahm ("Mad Men"), and Dennis Haysbert (“24”).
Entry fees for the event ranged from $3,750 for individual golfers to $15,000 for a foursome, while dinner-only tickets were priced at $250. The auction boasted enticing items such as a golf getaway to Pinehurst Resort, a weeklong Ryder Cup experience, a chance to attend the National Dog Show with O’Hurley, and premium tickets to a Golden State Valkyries game against the Indiana Fever.
The funds raised will support six vital organizations, including the Sonoma-Marin Boys and Girls Club, the PDI Surgery Center, educational programs at the Charles M. Schulz Museum, the Sonoma Academy Scholarship Fund, and Read On, Sonoma. Executive Director Amber Behrens expressed gratitude towards all sponsors, especially Grand Sponsor Lytton Rancheria, highlighting their generosity that enabled such a significant contribution in a single day.
