Search for Miss Mississippi 2025 Underway in Vicksburg
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) — The quest for Miss Mississippi 2025 has officially begun, as 33 delegates gathered at the Vicksburg Convention Center on Sunday morning to kick off a week filled with competition. Preliminary events start Wednesday evening, during which contestants will showcase their talents and initiatives.
Among the delegates are four alternates from the previous year’s competition, including 2024’s fourth alternate, Miss Capital City Anna Leah Jolly. Jolly, who was adopted from a Ukrainian orphanage, is a Quality of Life Finalist for her community service initiative, “Limitless.” Jolly shared her poignant story about overcoming linguistic barriers through dance and her commitment to helping children who have faced trauma.
Another finalist, Miss Metro Jackson Gracie Bassett, also focuses on community impact with her initiative, “Hair for Her.” Having donated over seven feet of hair throughout her life, Bassett encourages others to support cancer-related causes through fundraising and volunteer work.
Celeste Lay, Miss Queen of the South, is recognized for her initiative, “Chosen-Raising Awareness of Adoption as a Choice,” inspired by her own adoption story. She highlights the importance of choices made by birth parents.
The other Quality of Life finalists include Miss Jones County Katelyn Perry, Miss Lee County Avery Clair Littleton, Miss Madison County Nataleigh Nix, and Miss Meridian Rose Stafford. The winner will be unveiled later this week as judges conduct one-on-one interviews starting Monday morning.
With the spotlight shining on these remarkable women, the Miss Mississippi competition promises to be a week of inspiration, advocacy, and celebration of community service. Stay tuned as we cover interviews with delegates and alternates leading up to crowning day.
