Bikin’ the Beach Hits Biloxi: A New Motorcycle Festival Draws Crowds
BILOXI, Miss. – The engines roared and tires spun as the inaugural Bikin’ the Beach motorcycle festival revved up to great fanfare, drawing thousands of bikers to the Mississippi Coast. Among them was Baton Rouge resident Donald Owens, who cruised through Biloxi on his 2021 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited. “Anytime I can go somewhere away from home on a motorcycle, it’s a great day,” Owens shared, emphasizing his passion for riding.
Local residents Jason Stearman and Jennifer Miller were the driving forces behind this new event, inspired by the area’s existing festivals such as Cruisin’ the Coast and Jeepin’ the Coast. “Why isn’t there a motorcycle-based event?” Stearman questioned, ultimately deciding to take the leap to create Bikin’ the Beach. The event proved a success, generating much-needed tourism for the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Festival-goers enjoyed live music at the Biloxi Sanctuary and on the beach, solidifying the weekend as a community celebration. The organizers expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the positive impact on local businesses—many attendees were seen enjoying the local hospitality.
Looking to the future, Stearman hinted that next year’s festival may be hosted in a different city. “We want to make sure wherever we go, everybody feels really welcomed and that we get the most support from the communities,” he stated. Planning for the next edition is already underway, with meetings scheduled to ensure the event continues to thrive.
Bikin’ the Beach is set to become an annual highlight for motorcycle enthusiasts and an economic booster for the region, solidifying its place in the calendar of coastal events.
