Ole Miss Baseball Prepares for Final Home Game Against Austin Peay
OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 23 Ole Miss baseball team is set to host Austin Peay this Tuesday at Swayze Field, marking their last home game before embarking on a two-week road trip.
Last weekend, Ole Miss secured their fourth Southeastern Conference (SEC) series win of the season by taking two out of three games from Vanderbilt, their first victory over a top-10 opponent this year. They also triumphed over Mississippi State in a midweek matchup, resulting in three wins against conference rivals in a single week. With these victories, the Rebels have crossed the 30-win threshold for the first time since 2022 and achieved four SEC series wins—the most since that year.
Current rankings show Ole Miss consistently placed across major polls, including No. 23 in D1Baseball and as high as No. 12 in the NCBWA rankings. Key player Luke Hill has been exceptional, maintaining a 28-game on-base streak and ranking in the top 10 in the SEC for several batting categories. Austin Fawley has also made headlines, hitting six home runs in the past 10 games, including a crucial ninth-inning tie against Mississippi State.
Notable statistics for the Rebels include 85 home runs this season—the seventh most in NCAA—along with a strong pitching staff ranked seventh in strikeouts per nine innings.
Fans can catch Tuesday’s game on SEC Network+, with commentary by Jake Hromada and Matt McLaughlin, or listen via the Ole Miss Radio Network.
