Miss Mississippi Teen Contest Crowns New Champion in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The prestigious Miss Mississippi Teen Contest culminated today at the Ardis T. Williams Auditorium, spotlighting talent, poise, and ambition among Mississippi’s youth. The title of Miss Mississippi Teen was awarded to Avery McNair, representing Madison County, who captivated the audience with her vivacious performance of Jerry Lee Lewis’s classic hit "Great Balls of Fire." Her supporters, the Petite Magnolia Belles, delighted spectators by blowing kisses, earning joyous applause throughout the auditorium.

Blake Hart, representing Capital City, secured the position of 1st Runner Up. McNair excelled throughout the competition, clinching wins in both the Health and Fitness category on Saturday night and the Talent section on Saturday afternoon. Hart also showcased her talent during the preliminary events, winning the Talent category on Saturday night, while tying with Miss Lafayette County, Madalyn Sullivan, in the morning’s Health and Fitness round.

The Miss Mississippi Teen competition not only celebrates beauty and talent but also provides vital scholarships to young women pursuing higher education. The event aims to empower participants by fostering leadership, communication, and intelligence. Since its inception in 2005, when Natalie Wood won the inaugural title, the competition has inspired a new generation of women. Wood herself attended today’s event, offering encouragement and support to the contestants.
