Florida principal and teacher arrested following discovery of underage drinking party with 100 minors

A Florida teacher and elementary school principal were charged in connection with a house party where minors were drinking, leading to the principal’s suspension and plans to replace her. Body camera footage released showed police responding to the party and finding around 100 juveniles, one of whom needed medical treatment for alcohol intoxication. The teacher, Karly Anderson, identified herself as an employee at the school and appeared to be intoxicated when speaking with officers. Both Anderson and Principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan were suspended by Brevard Public Schools after the incident. The charges against Hill-Brodigan include child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and holding an open house party. Anderson is charged with disorderly conduct and intoxication. Both women are out on bond, and court records do not indicate their pleas. The attorney for Hill-Brodigan said they are investigating the matter, while Anderson’s lawyer stated that she had nothing to do with the party and that they had been out to dinner when they were informed of the gathering at Hill-Brodigan’s home. The school superintendent expressed concern over the incident, calling it a failure in leadership and a violation of trust if the allegations are true.
