The Kansas State men’s golf team finished the first day of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship in 11th place with a 36-hole score of 12-over par 588. The Wildcats started strong with a first-round score of 1-under par 287 but fell down the leaderboard after a 13-over par second round.

Junior Alex Lindstrom led the team, tied for 27th place at 1-over par 145. Senior Nicklaus Mason also had a solid performance, tied for 40th place at 3-over par 147. Senior Cooper Schultz and freshman Erik Sabelström Holmberg were tied for 52nd place at 7-over par 151, while senior Kobe Valociek, returning from an injury, was tied for 60th place at 8-over par 152.

Senior Ian McCrary, playing as an individual, had a strong second-round score of 2-under par 70, moving him into a tie for 31st place at 2-over par 146.

Despite their individual efforts, K-State is trailing behind third-ranked Ole Miss, who holds a significant lead at 40-under par 536. The Rebels also dominate the individual leaderboard, with Tom Fischer leading at 12-under par 132.

The Wildcats will begin their final round with tee times off No. 10 starting at 8:20 a.m. as they are paired with Missouri and South Alabama. Live results can be viewed on SCOREBOARD Powered by Clippd.
