Mississippi State Defeats Florida 5-2 in Starkville

The Florida men’s tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat against Mississippi State, ending their four-match win streak. Mississippi State secured the doubles point, and Florida struggled in singles, only winning two courts. Freshman Niels Villard and Kevin Edengren scored victories for the Gators, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Mississippi State’s lead. The match was sealed on court one with Mississippi State’s Benito Sanchez Martinez defeating Adhithya Ganesan. The Gators will now face the University of Georgia on Thursday, April 3 at 5 p.m. at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex. Florida is currently ranked No. 29 in the ITA rankings, with several players ranked in singles competition and doubles pairs.
