Intelligent Bio Solutions (INBS) has recently obtained a new US patent for its Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening Cartridge. This patent, the sixth active one for the company in the US, reinforces the protection of its drug screening technology that detects drugs in fingerprint sweat using lateral flow technology. The system claims to identify common drugs of abuse through sweat analysis and provides results in less than ten minutes. INBS aims to enter the US market this year after submitting its FDA 510(k) application in December. The company’s CEO and president, Harry Simeonidis, highlighted the importance of this patent in strengthening the company’s competitive position in the US market. INBS completed a method comparison study in November 2024, confirming the usability, accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity of its drug screening system. The company’s technology is seen as a non-invasive solution that meets the increasing demand for employee safety across various industries. With wider applications in additional fields, including screening for drugs like cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis, and opiates, the Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Testing Solution could transform portable testing methods. The company anticipates entering the multi-billion dollar US market in 2025.
