The Samford University baseball team suffered a 6-1 loss against Mississippi State, bringing their season record to 13-12. Mississippi State’s Gatlin Sanders went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Hunter Hines and Joe Powell contributed with hits and two RBI each. Pitcher Kevin Mannell earned the win for Mississippi State. After tying the score in the third inning, Samford was unable to keep up with Mississippi State’s offense, which scored three runs in the fourth and two more in the seventh.
