Peruvian fisherman missing at sea for 95 days finally reunited with family

Peruvian fisherman Maximo Napa spent 95 days lost in the Pacific Ocean after a storm caused his boat to drift off course. Despite packing only two weeks worth of food, he managed to survive by eating roaches, birds, and sea turtles, ultimately going 15 days without eating. He was found by an Ecuadorian fishing patrol 680 miles off the coast of Peru, heavily dehydrated and in critical condition. Napa credited thoughts of his family, including his 2-month-old granddaughter, for keeping him strong during the ordeal. His mother, Elena Castro, had lost hope during the search but was overjoyed at his miraculous return. Napa expressed gratitude for a second chance at life and was scheduled for medical checks in Paita before heading to Lima. His family had never lost faith in his return and are grateful for his safe homecoming after the harrowing experience at sea.
