Rex Nelson, a well-known senior editor and columnist at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette since 2017, is also the host of a biweekly podcast called “Southern Fried.” Nelson has an extensive background in journalism, starting as a sportswriter for the Arkansas Democrat in 1981, before becoming the editor of Arkadelphia’s Daily Siftings Herald, making him the youngest daily editor in Arkansas at the age of 23.
