Newsmax has agreed to pay Smartmatic a total of $40 million as part of a settlement following a defamation lawsuit last year. Smartmatic’s lawyer stated that they are now focused on a similar case against Fox News and look forward to holding them accountable. Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News, reached a settlement in 2023 to pay $787.5 million to Dominion Voting Systems to settle defamation claims.
