Athletics at the University of Mississippi – Ole Miss


Ole Miss track & field had a strong showing at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championships, with several standout performances from the distance squad on day one of competition. In the men’s 5K, seniors Kidus Misgina and Toby Gillen scored points for the Rebels, with Misgina clocking a PR of 13:42.99 to finish fourth overall. Gillen also contributed with a seventh-place finish. The men’s distance medley relay team added more points with a fourth-place finish.
On the women’s side, Greta Karinauskaite placed sixth in the 5K with an indoor career-best time, narrowly missing a program record. Other Rebel women also posted career-best efforts in the event.
The team standings after day one saw the Ole Miss men in seventh place with 14.5 points, while the women were tied for 11th with 3 points.
Overall, the Rebels had a solid start to the championships and will look to build on their performances in the remaining events. The men’s weight throw is next up on the schedule for Friday morning.
