Ole Miss softball is making a triumphant return to Oxford for their home openers, facing off against McNeese in the first game at the new Ole Miss Softball Stadium. The game will be streamed on SEC Network Plus, with gates opening 60 minutes before the 6 p.m. CT start time. The Rebels, led by standout freshmen like Mackenzie Pickens and Miali Guachino, come in with a 12-3 record and look to continue their success at home.
Despite a challenging schedule that featured 15 road games to start the season, the Rebels have shown great promise and potential. Freshman Miali Guachino has been a standout, breaking the single-game strikeout record with 19 strikeouts in a game. Another freshman, Mackenzie Pickens, earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors for her stellar performance at the Rocket City Softball Showcase.
The Rebels also welcome a new coaching staff with impressive credentials, including Ehren Earleywine, Nancy Evans, and Bobby Buchanan. The team has added 16 newcomers in 2025, with a mix of freshmen and transfers bringing depth and talent to the roster.
McNeese, the Rebels’ upcoming opponent, enters the game with a 10-4 record and is led by a dynamic lineup featuring players like Samantha Mundine and Jada Muñoz. The Cowgirls have won their last six games and are looking to make a return to the NCAA Tournament.
