Arkansas welcomes Dollar General’s first distribution center in the state

Dollar General recently opened a new distribution center in North Little Rock, marking its first distribution center in Arkansas since opening its first store in the state in 1975. The $160 million investment is expected to create 300 new jobs and will support traditional freight, perishable products, and the company’s private fleet trucking network.

The new facility is part of Dollar General’s efforts to reshape its supply chain operations and improve efficiency. It is the fifth distribution center opened by the company since 2003 and the first this year. The retailer also plans to add fresh produce to about 300 locations in 2025 and has expanded its private brand reach with new products under the Clover Valley brand.

To celebrate the opening of the distribution center in North Little Rock, Dollar General donated $20,000 to the Arkansas Food Bank. The company employs over 5,700 people in Arkansas through its stores and the new distribution center. Vice President of Global Supply Chain, Rod West, expressed excitement for the new facility and its potential to better support store teams and customers.

Overall, the opening of the new distribution center represents Dollar General’s continued growth and investment in the state of Arkansas. With a focus on improving operations and expanding product offerings, the company is committed to delivering quality products and services to its customers in the region.
