A cargo container and makeshift office belonging to Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky slid into the Kentucky River due to a weather-related mudslide caused by heavy rains and flooding. No employees were near the area at the time, and the affected property has been roped off for safety. Production and tours of the distillery have not been impacted. The distillery, with roots dating back to 1771, has faced and overcome challenges such as floods, fires, tornadoes, and Prohibition throughout its two-plus centuries of existence. Governor Andy Beshear reported that at least 22 people have died in recent winter weather-related incidents in the state. Buffalo Trace Distillery, known for producing a variety of whiskey brands, is working closely with professionals to ensure proper cleanup of the affected area.
