Last week, the Gettysburg Times had the opportunity to tour the Colonial Career & Technology Center, a vocational school located in the heart of Gettysburg. Established with the goal of providing students with hands-on training in various trades and technical skills, the center offers programs in fields such as automotive technology, cosmetology, nursing, welding, and more.
During the tour, our team had the chance to visit each of the center’s state-of-the-art facilities and witness firsthand the impressive equipment and resources available to the students. In the automotive technology workshop, students were seen working on cars under the guidance of experienced instructors, while in the welding lab, sparks flew as students practiced their skills on metal projects.
One of the highlights of the tour was the cosmetology salon, where students were busy styling hair and applying makeup on mannequins. The center’s cosmetology program not only teaches students how to cut and color hair, but also provides them with opportunities to gain real-world experience by working with clients in the salon.
Throughout the tour, it was clear that the Colonial Career & Technology Center is dedicated to providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen field.
