DeSoto County News: Recap of this week’s legislative action


In the 2025 Mississippi Legislative Session, both the State Senate and House of Representatives had a busy week with various bills being passed and presented. The Senate passed bills on a range of topics including retirement systems, voting, and transportation. Additionally, they commended Mississippi Valley State University and Choctaw High School Chargers Football Team for their achievements. Jackson State University also received recognition for their football team, marching band, women’s softball team, and tennis team.
