Toni Lindsey, also known as “Mama T” by business leaders, has had an interesting career path that led her to her current role as the director of government affairs at the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. With a background in working with the University of Arkansas Athletic Department and a passion for politics, Lindsey now focuses on lobbying for pro-business legislation and managing community relations with chamber members and elected officials. She emphasizes the importance of honesty and relationship building when working with legislators.
In addition to her role at the Chamber, Lindsey directs the Leadership Arkansas program, a nine-month personal and professional development program for business leaders in the state. Under her leadership, the program has seen record numbers of applicants and participants, with the goal of showcasing the best of Arkansas while also addressing areas in need of improvement.
Her previous experience with the University of Arkansas Athletic Department included working closely with former Razorbacks coaches Houston Nutt and Nolan Richardson. Lindsey recalls her time working on coaches’ shows and special events, including a celebration of the 1964 national championship football team that gifted her with a championship ring.
Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family and is actively involved in the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Hospital Auxiliary. Her son, Thomas Gray, who is a heart surgery recipient, serves as her motivation in everything she does.
With a passion for community involvement and a dedication to making Arkansas a better place, Lindsey continues to make a positive impact in both her professional and personal life.
