Athletics at the University of Mississippi – Ole Miss

The No. 5 Ole Miss football team is preparing to face their toughest test yet, taking on their first power-conference opponent, Wake Forest, this weekend. The Rebels will make their first road trip of the season to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to play at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Ole Miss is coming off an impressive start to the season, leading the nation with 128 points scored and only allowing three points in their first two games. However, they will face a strong passing attack from Wake Forest, which ranks fifth in the nation with 361.5 passing yards per game. The Rebels’ secondary, ranked 69th nationally, will be challenged to contain Wake Forest’s veteran quarterback, Hank Bachmeier.

Despite Wake Forest’s success against SEC opponents, winning their last four games against teams from the conference, Ole Miss will rely on their dominant run game led by Henry Parrish Jr. to control the game. Head coach Lane Kiffin emphasized the importance of establishing the run early to open up opportunities in the passing game with quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Fans can catch the game on The CW, with live streaming available on The CW App and live audio on OleMissSports.com/watch. For more information and gameday updates, visit OleMissSports.com.
