Ole Miss football great Terrence Metcalf has been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. A standout offensive tackle for the Rebels from 1997-2001, Metcalf is one of three offensive linemen in the class. He becomes the 10th Rebel player and the 13th overall with Ole Miss ties to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Metcalf, known for his size, technique, and agility, was a consensus All-American in 2001 and played a key role in helping Ole Miss to three bowl appearances and two final national rankings. His impact was particularly felt in pass protection, as he anchored an offensive line that allowed the fewest sacks in the SEC in 2000 and 2001.
After his college career, Metcalf was drafted by the Chicago Bears and played in the NFL for seven seasons, including an appearance in Super Bowl XLI. He then turned to coaching in Mississippi and remained active in civic initiatives. Metcalf’s accomplishments have earned him induction into the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, as well as recognition as an SEC Legend.
The 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class includes 18 players and four coaches, who will be officially inducted in December. The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, founded in 1947, is a non-profit organization focused on using the power of amateur football to develop scholarship, citizenship, and athletic achievement in young people.
