Hoops Central: Lady Vols (#15) vs. Mississippi State (RV)


The No. 15/15 Tennessee Lady Vols (14-2, 2-2 SEC) are set to host RV/RV Mississippi State (15-3, 2-2 SEC) for the 2025 “We Back Pat” game on Thursday night at the Food City Center. The game will be televised on SEC Network and broadcast on Lady Vol Network radio stations. The Lady Vols are coming off a dominant win against Arkansas, while Mississippi State is also 2-2 in SEC play.

Tennessee features a high-scoring offense led by guard Talaysia Cooper and fifth-year guard Jewel Spear. Mississippi State is paced by guard Jerkaila Jordan, forward Eniya Russell, and center Madina Okot. The Lady Vols are ranked No. 1 in several statistical categories nationally, including scoring offense and three-pointers made per game.

Fans attending the game should be aware of parking and traffic flow changes due to construction near Neyland Stadium. Additionally, the game can be streamed through various platforms for those unable to attend in person.

The Lady Vols hold a 40-8 all-time record against Mississippi State and have won three of the past four meetings. The last time these teams met, Tennessee overcame a second-quarter deficit to secure a win.
