Incoming freshman Caroline Ellis from Stamford, Connecticut, has been named the Gatorade Player of the Year for her state. Ellis is set to join the Ole Miss volleyball program in 2025 after a successful senior campaign where she led her team to a perfect record and a tournament title. She finishes her high school career with over 1,000 kills and is a four-time NEPSAC champion. Ellis joins a list of talented players from Connecticut who have gone on to successful Division I careers after winning this award.
The Gatorade Player of the Year program recognizes top high school athletes in various sports across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Selections are made by a committee of experts based on performance and achievements in their respective sports.
