Mississippi State Extends Winning Streak to Seven Games, Defeats South Carolina 85-50


No. 17 Mississippi State opened its SEC season with a dominant 85-50 victory over South Carolina. Josh Hubbard led the way with 21 points, while Claudell Harris added 17 points and nine rebounds. The Bulldogs held the Gamecocks to just 18 first-half points, a record low in SEC play under coach Chris Jans. Mississippi State extended its winning streak to seven games, with Riley Kugel and KeShawn Murphy each contributing 12 points. On the other side, South Carolina struggled offensively, shooting just 29% from the field and 2 for 19 from 3-point range. Zachary Davis led the team with 22 points, while Collin Murray-Boyles was limited to five points on 2-for-9 shooting.
