An 8-year-old boy named Tinotenda Pudu went missing in Zimbabwe for five days after wandering 23 kilometers away from home and into a game park filled with wild animals. He survived by sleeping on a rocky perch, eating wild fruits, and being guided by drums played by the local community. He was eventually found by rangers from Matusadona Africa Parks, who located him 49 kilometers away from his village. Despite the challenging search due to heavy rain washing away footprints, Tinotenda was rescued and taken for medical evaluation. He is currently stable but will be assessed by a mental health team to ensure he does not suffer lasting trauma from the experience. The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority confirmed the rescue and emphasized the importance of unity, hope, prayer, and determination in such situations. The incident was described as a “true miracle” by a member of the country’s parliament, Mutsa Murombedzi, who shared updates on Tinotenda’s health and expressed gratitude for his safe return home.
