On Thursday, Cole Jester was sworn in as the 35th Secretary of State for Arkansas, succeeding John Thurston who was elected Treasurer of State. The public ceremony took place at the State Capitol, where Jester was administered the oath of office by Supreme Court Associate Justice Cody Hiland. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders congratulated Jester, praising his character and faith, and expressing confidence in his ability to serve Arkansas well. In his address, Jester thanked Thurston for his service and the governor for appointing him. Sanders to complete the term of Thurston, serving until January 2027.
