Family confirms Mississippi teenager was one of the victims in New Orleans attack

A tragic incident on Bourbon Street in New Orleans has left at least 10 people dead and 35 others injured, including 18-year-old Nikyra Dedeaux from Mississippi. Dedeaux was in the city to celebrate New Year’s Eve when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar. Witnesses described the horrifying scene of bodies scattered on the street and the aftermath of the attack.

Further investigation revealed that video footage showed three men and a woman placing an explosive device in connection with the car attack. This information has led authorities to believe that Jabbar did not act alone in the violent incident. The driver of the truck deliberately drove onto a sidewalk, bypassing a police car that was meant to block traffic in the area.

The attack occurred in a highly crowded area filled with New Year’s revelers, and the security barrier system in place was under repair for the upcoming Super Bowl in February. Jabbar was killed in a confrontation with police following the attack. The FBI has been working to uncover more details about the incident and locate any additional suspects involved in the tragic event.

The community is in mourning over the loss of Nikyra Dedeaux and the other victims of the Bourbon Street terror attack. Family and friends are devastated by the sudden and senseless act of violence that has taken the lives of so many innocent individuals. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice.
