Pro tennis player Gabriela Dabrowski opens up about competing in Wimbledon and the Olympics while undergoing breast cancer treatment

Gabriela Dabrowski, a Paris Olympic bronze medalist and three-time Grand Slam champion, revealed on Instagram that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. Despite undergoing treatment, she continued to compete, winning events with her partner Erin Routliffe. Dabrowski briefly paused treatment to participate in Wimbledon and the Paris Olympic Games, where she won a bronze medal. Her health battle began in 2023 when she discovered a lump in her breast, but was initially told it was nothing to worry about. After further examination in 2024, she was diagnosed with cancer. Dabrowski initially kept her diagnosis private but now wants to share her story as a survivor. She emphasized the importance of early detection and expressed gratitude for being able to manage her treatment and side effects. Dabrowski hopes her experience can raise awareness and support others going through similar challenges.
