Mississippi State basketball has made its way back into the Associated Press Top 25 rankings after a convincing 79-66 victory over Memphis. The Bulldogs, with an impressive 11-1 record, are back at No. 19 in the national rankings just in time for the Christmas week.
This marks the third time this season that Mississippi State has entered the Top 25, with previous rankings at No. 25. In their latest win, the Bulldogs showcased a balanced offense and strong defense led by Riley Kugel, who scored 19 points in the game.
The SEC continues to dominate the AP Top 25 with a total of 10 teams ranked this week, including five in the Top 10. Tennessee remains at the top spot, followed by Auburn at No. 2, and Alabama at No. 5. Florida and Kentucky also represent the SEC in the Top 10 at No. 6 and No. 10, respectively.
Other SEC teams in the Top 25 include Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Arkansas at No. 12, No. 13, No. 16, and No. 23, respectively.
Mississippi State is set to face Bethune-Cookman on December 30th at Humphrey Coliseum with an 8 p.m. tipoff. Fans can expect an exciting matchup as the Bulldogs look to continue their strong performance and climb higher in the national rankings.
