Marvell M. Gordon was recently sworn in as the newest assistant district attorney for the 10th Circuit Court District, covering Clarke, Lauderdale, Kemper, and Wayne Counties. Gordon, a Canton resident, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and his law degree from the University of Mississippi. He has been a practicing attorney for 15 years and was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 2003.
Prior to his appointment as assistant district attorney, Gordon served in various legal roles, including as an assistant district attorney in both the 21st and Seventh Circuit Court Districts of Mississippi. He most recently worked as a public defender in Lauderdale County. Gordon is married to attorney Ta’Shia Gordon, and they have two children.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Gordon took his oath before Circuit Court Judge Lester Williamson. His experience in the legal field and dedication to serving justice make him a valuable addition to the 10th Circuit Court District team.
Gordon’s appointment marks an important milestone in his legal career and reflects his commitment to upholding the law and seeking justice for the community. As he begins his new role, Gordon is prepared to bring his expertise and passion for the law to his work as an assistant district attorney.
