The Oklahoma Sooners suffered a tough 26-14 loss to No. 18 Mississippi in Oxford on Saturday. Despite the loss, there were some positives to take away from the game. One of the main highlights was the performance of the offense, which showed improvement after a coaching change. Even without co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell, the Sooners were able to put together solid drives and showcase a stronger rushing attack.
However, the team struggled in the second half, failing to maintain their momentum from the first half. The offense was unable to generate much yardage, and the defense allowed Mississippi to score multiple times in the third quarter. Oklahoma’s offensive line also faced challenges, allowing nine sacks and 15 tackles for loss.
In terms of injuries, Oklahoma was missing several key players, including wide receivers and defensive backs. The team had to make adjustments on the offensive line, leading to their seventh different combination in eight games.
Despite the loss, the Sooners showed resilience and some promising developments on the field. With adjustments and improvements, they will look to bounce back in their next game.
