The Telugu film industry had a rollercoaster year in 2024 with blockbusters like Kalki 2898 AD and Pushpa 2, as well as smaller hits like Lucky Baskhar and KA. However, the industry also lost some talented artists during the year. Media Baron Ramoji Rao, the founder of Ramoji Film City, passed away in June at the age of 87, leaving behind an impressive legacy in Telugu cinema. Actor Daniel Balaji, known for his work in Tamil and Telugu films, died in March at the age of 48 after a heart attack. Director Surya Kiran, who started as a child actor and transitioned into directing, also passed away in March due to jaundice at the age of 49. Actress Pavithra Jayaram lost her life in a tragic road accident in May at the age of 53, while actor Chandrakanth was found dead at his residence shortly after her death. Chandrakanth had posted an emotional message for Pavithra before his demise, showing how deeply affected he was by her passing. The Telugu film industry mourns the loss of these talented individuals as it prepares to move forward into 2025.
