Mimmo’s Bistro, the highly anticipated extension of the popular Quitman-based restaurant, has finally opened its doors on Front Street in Meridian. The opening day saw a full dining room, with customers ordering food until closing, generating a buzz on social media with over 125 comments and 650 reactions. Manager, Beau Blackledge, expressed satisfaction with the turnout, noting that customers seemed to love the food and left happy.

The bistro will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Everything at the bistro is made fresh daily, including breads, dressings, and sauces. Getting all the necessary permits and certificates for the downtown location was a challenge that delayed the opening, according to Blackledge.

Owner, Mimmo Rendina, had initially hoped for an October opening, but the permit process caused a delay. This marks Rendina’s third restaurant opening, with locations in Laurel and Quitman. Unlike the other locations, the bistro will cater specifically to a lunchtime crowd, offering a faster version of Mimmo’s family recipes in a casual dining setting. Blackledge emphasizes that while the food is fast, it is not fast food and still preserves the authentic taste of Mimmo’s recipes.
