Jonesboro Police apprehend felon from Mississippi County


Jonesboro police successfully apprehended a man with an active warrant and prior felony convictions out of Mississippi County. Keith Real, 33, was identified by a member of the Second Judicial Drug Task Force while walking on Vine Street. When approached by squad cars, Real attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by a K9 officer. During the pursuit, Real was found in possession of a black handgun and was seen throwing items, including a small bag of meth.

A total of 12 grams of meth was found on Real, along with a handgun containing one round in the chamber and 11 rounds in the clip. Real has been charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of meth, and fleeing. His court date is scheduled for Jan. 24, with a bond set at $150,000 cash or surety. Real is currently being held at the Craighead County Detention Center.
