Athletic Program at the University of Mississippi – Ole Miss

Ole Miss football junior defensive tackle Walter Nolen continues to add to his accolades, being named a Walter Camp All-American as a second-team defensive lineman. This marks the fourth All-America honor for Nolen this season, having been previously recognized by The Athletic, CBS Sports/247Sports, and the College Football Network. Nolen, a Coaches All-SEC first-team member, stands out as one of the best interior linemen in the nation and was also a finalist for the Outland Trophy.

Nolen’s impressive statistics include tying for the team lead in tackles for loss, ranking third on the team in sacks, and fifth in total tackles. In SEC play, he leads all conference defenders in tackles for loss and ranks fifth in sacks. Pro Football Focus (PFF) metrics further highlight Nolen’s strong performance, ranking him as the No. 5 run stopper in all of college football with a season grade of 91.7.

The Walter Camp All-America team, now in its 135th edition, is considered the nation’s oldest college football All-America team. Nolen was among 25 players selected to both the first and second teams by FBS head coaches and sports information directors. A total of 13 SEC players were recognized as All-Americans, with Nolen contributing to the conference’s strong showing.
