The MHSAA Class 2A title game is set for a rematch between Charleston and Heidelberg today at Southern Miss’ M. M. Roberts Stadium. Charleston, seeking its third state championship, will face Heidelberg, looking to win its first title after seven shutouts this season. Last season, Charleston won the title game 26-22. Ultimately, Charleston emerged victorious with a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 6-6 tie at halftime. The game saw quarterback Chase Craft scoring for Heidelberg and Charleston’s Marcus Flowers, Jr. finding the end zone. The weather in Hattiesburg is expected to be 53 degrees with a 0% chance of rain. In other MHSAA state championship results, Choctaw County won the Class 3A title, Tupelo took the Class 7A title, and Baldwyn emerged victorious in the Class 1A championship. The schedule for the rest of the weekend includes the Class 5A, 4A, and 6A championship games.
