Graduates of Mississippi’s first-ever Amazon Web Services Information Infrastructure Pre-Apprenticeship program celebrated their accomplishments as they received their diplomas. The program, which certifies students in various areas such as pricing, safety, carpentry, electrical work, and more, aims to provide graduates with the skills needed for high-growth careers in the tech industry.
Many of the graduates are interested in pursuing careers in the electrical field, with a focus on working with telecommunication companies like Entergy, AT&T, and C-spire. Hanson Tran, one of the graduates, expressed his interest in applying to companies like AWS and fiber optic companies.
As the students completed the program, they bonded and exchanged thoughtful gifts to commemorate their achievements. Alana Woodruff, a student in the program, took the initiative to provide gifts for her classmates as a way to show appreciation for their hard work during the four-week program.
The program is part of AWS’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce in the tech industry. By providing intentional pathways into high-growth careers, AWS aims to support graduates in achieving their career goals.
