2024 Arkansas General Election Outcomes

Several national, state, and local races were decided on Election Day in Arkansas, with a roundup highlighting some of the most prominent races statewide and in central Arkansas. All four Republican incumbent members of Arkansas’ delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives won re-election, including Rep. French Hill in the 2nd Congressional District. Little Rock City Board of Directors saw incumbent director Antwan Phillips re-elected, and Joan Adcock appeared to narrowly maintain her position against challenger Blake Tierney.

Results for the “Results for the Rock” sales tax increase seemed poised to fail, as did the second effort by Mayor Frank Scott Jr. to increase sales tax. However, voters approved Issue 1, allowing state-funded scholarships to be used for students’ vocational education. Issue 2, vacating a casino license and requiring local approval of new casinos, appeared likely to pass.

In judicial races, Arkansas Supreme Court Chief Justice was most likely to be Justice Karen Baker. In the Arkansas Court of Appeals race to replace a retiring member, Casey Tucker was leading. In legislative races, Republicans largely maintained their positions, with Julie Mayberry and Mark Johnson winning re-election.

Overall, Election Day in Arkansas saw victories for incumbent Republicans in national and state offices, along with approvals for Issue 1 and likely passage of Issue 2, bringing significant changes to the state’s leadership and policies.
