Kentucky Volleyball Dominates Mississippi State in 3-0 Sweep

The No. 12 Kentucky volleyball team showcased a powerful performance on Wednesday night, recording a convincing 3-0 victory over Mississippi State at Historic Memorial Coliseum. The Wildcats secured sets of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-11, propelled by a balanced offensive attack featuring six players contributing six or more kills.

Senior setter Emma Grome orchestrated the offense masterfully, registering a match-high 37 assists as Kentucky posted an impressive .337 hitting percentage with 45 kills against just 12 errors. Leading the charge was senior right side Megan Wilson, who notched nine kills on 17 attempts without a single error, achieving a career-best hitting percentage of .529. Brooklyn DeLeye matched Wilson’s nine kills, while Asia Thigpen and Jordyn Dailey each contributed seven, alongside Brooke Bultema and Erin Lamb, who added six each.

Defensively, Kentucky proved formidable, amassing 13 team blocks and limiting Mississippi State to a mere .085 hitting percentage. The Bulldogs could only muster 26 kills, plagued by 18 hitting errors. Dailey led the blocking effort with six, while Wilson had five, and Grome along with Bultema recorded four each.

On the back line, Molly Tuozzo stood out with a match-high 12 digs. DeLeye added 10 digs and three service aces, while Eleanor Beavin contributed eight digs and two aces.

With this victory, Kentucky improves to an 18-7 overall and 12-2 in the Southeastern Conference. Looking ahead, the Wildcats will celebrate Senior Day as they host Arkansas for their final home match of the regular season on Sunday, with a chance to clinch at least a share of their eighth consecutive SEC Championship. The match is slated for 4:00 PM ET.
