Mississippi State Bulldogs Fall to No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats in Straight Sets
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs faced a tough challenge on Wednesday night, succumbing to the No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats in three sets. Despite the loss, standout performances came from Bulldogs’ Karli Schmidt and Amina Shackelford, who recorded eight and seven kills, respectively. Arissa Smith led the team with a .250 hitting percentage, showcasing her offensive capabilities against a formidable opponent.
In the match, the Bulldogs employed two setters, Ceci Harness and Cayley Hanson. Harness led the duo with 13 assists, while Hanson contributed with eight. Defensively, McKenna Yates emerged as a key player, leading the team with 11 digs. This marked Yates’s fifth consecutive match with double-digit digs, an impressive feat that highlights her consistent performance throughout the season. In fact, she has achieved double-digit digs in eight of the last nine contests for Mississippi State.
